Johnny rebZeiss spotting scopes?
anyone have experience with the zeiss spotting scopes? The zeiss are quite a bit less than what I can find swarovskis for. I have no way of comparing the two side by side. I have looked at the Swarovski and it is excellent.thanks

GrenadierI have owned both. I was disappointed in the Zeiss after owning the Swarovski. It was still a very good optic but the Swarovski easily outclassed it.

JGRaiderI agree with Grenadier. The guys I hunt alot with all use Zeiss 85T FL spotters. I've never been overly impressed with them, especially after using the Meopta S2, which is crystal clear, edge to edge, even at 70x. Every Zeiss I've seen has very fuzzy edges.
If the question is Swaro 80HD or Zeiss 85, I'd take Swaro every time. I know you didn't ask, but the S2 is the finest spotter I've ever seen, and I've seen most of the high end stuff with the exception of the new swaro modular spotters.
I saw a test of all the current spotting scopes, and the Meopta came in 2nd, only after the new Swaro modular that was twice the price, and ahead of some other very expensive brands.

Thye Meopta is a VERY fine unit. The only thing about Meopta that is not 1st rate is their advertising. If they would get themselves more in the public eye they would be recognized for the quality optical company that they are
