BearbuckLEUPOLD RETICLE USERS
I ordered my VX I with a wide duplex reticle. It will be delivered tomorrow. Today I was in my gun store looking through a Leupold and noticed it was just a duplex reticle but seemed to be what I thought I ordered. So having not looked through a wide duplex reticle what makes it different from the regular duplex and which is most people happier with? Thanks for your help and all the feedback you have given me in helping me make this scope purchas.

Woodrow SYou have a heavy section and a thinner section of stadia wires on a duplex scope. On a wide duplex scope the thin section of the stadia wires are longer than the regular duplex so it just opens up the center of the scope a little more. If you are making more precise and/or long range shots it is somewhat better but the thinner stadia wires where they join to make the cross are harder to see in dim light. I think you will be happy with either as both styles are very user friendly. If it was the heavy duplex then I would be concerned as they are only better when shooting in low light/heavy brush situations.
