Swaro range vz Leica version
Has anyone opinions for which is best? I've looked at both but not side by side. I think the features on the Leica Look easier to use? I think the Swaro is slightly lighter But the Leica doesn't have the ugly bumps on the bottom.

I have 10x40 HD Leicas. I like them very much.

Swaro works better in unfavourable conditions eg fog. Both are similar in fine conditions.

What are you looking for? The plain rangefinder: Go with the Leica CRF 1000

Looking for Rangefinding binos? Go with the Swarovski EL Range! Their Image is more then crisp clear!

The Leica's all have a smaller beam dispersal. That has allowed me to range prairie dogs on grass covered mounds at well past 800 yards. No other brand can match that capability in a combo range finder-bino.

I agree 100% with f224.
I've done a lot of testing.

Leica Geovids have been around for a long time as the premier rangefinding binocular. They just came out with the new Geovid HD-B which is getting rave reviews for the ballistics calcs for shooters. The Swaro rangefinding bino is pretty new although the EL is top-notch.

I have always found the Leica standalone rangefinder to be at the top of the heap.

Hopefully someone will compare the new Geovid HD-B to Swaro rangefinder EL and give some good info.

@hunt99: Well, the Swaro EL Range is now 2 years old - while the Leica Geovid HD_B is still not on the market, but I have seen them on the Show and compared them: The Image is not that clear and sharp as the Swaro EL - definetly not!

As was mentioned, the Leica Geovid 7x42, or Leica Vector 1500, have a very small beam divergence of 0.3 milliradians vertical by 1.5 milliradians horizontal.

A set of my Leica Vectors.
