sharpsguyI am surprised no one has responded to this post. I have a pair of 10x42 Diamondbacks, and find them to be a very good binocular in all respects. Far better than the price would indicate. They are very close to my Vortex Razors optically, and the Razors are on par with my hunting buddy's Geovids.
If you need more binocular than the 10x42 Diamondbacks, you will have to spend north of 2k. I actually prefer my Diamondbacks to my early Razors because they are smaller a bit smaller and lighter than the Razors. The Diamondbacks are an optical bargain.

gr8fuldougIn an under $250.00 binocular you can get finer optics, superior quality control in construction and even a better price in a Hawke, an Athlon, a Minox and a few other brands

sharpsguyDoug, I paid $159 for my Diamondbacks on sale at Cameralandny. The glasses you mention may be better, but I have not had the opportunity to look through them. I only speak of those I have looked through. I would buy another pair of Diamondbacks for $250 in a heartbeat.

gr8fuldougThose were the ones we got from the guy that was closing up. At $70.00 off their a great deal. At the $229.99 they normally sell for there are better options.
