Slow and docile or "scientist's immagination" ??
I question this as I've seen so many foolish theories by clueless "scientists" .

C'mon fellows. Haven't you ever been to a circus? Lots of slow moving, docile elephants. Obviously they're the only ones left from the Middle East herd.

Once they wiped out the elephants, why didn't they just shift to another slow moving, docile animal, the Cape buffalo?

Actually there might be something to this.

In elephant hunting in Africa, one frequently sneaks up to within 30 yards of a bull elephant. Further, there are at least three people in the party--the client, the PH, and the head tracker who positions the shooting sticks. Then the client shoots off the sticks at the still unsuspecting elephant.

Can you imagine anyone trying this with white tail deer?

During my limited experience in Africa, i think it's easier to sneak up on an elephant than a cape buffalo.

I think he'll change his mind when the slow and docile elephants chase him down and stomp the crap out of him. But then again he will probably never experience elephants in the wild.

Good Hunting,
