Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie,
Glad did I live and gladly die,

And I laid me down with a will.

This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be,
Home is the sailor, home from sea,

And the hunter home from the hill.

By Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-94).

Sympathy goes out to the family and friends as well as prayers for their strength in this moment of loss.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

Murf, the birds are always flying in the happy hunting grounds, and the camps are warm and dry! R.I.P.

My condolences to his family! They should be comforted in the knowledge that Murf is fine now, and that we shall all follow him someday!

Hunters, and hunter's dogs don't die that just go to a better hunting place!

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.
