Wildlife ArtistHow big
Hello
I'm asking this out of curiousity so please don't beat me up

.Would you be comfortable to shoot a cape buffalo or Ele with 9.3X64? I know the last is a stretch but it could be done.

Karl S100% comfortable, provided that the right bullets are used. (Only very good premium softs like Rhino, Barnes X on buff, and solids like Woodleigh and various monomlithic solids of 286gr and heavier.) In fact, my 9.3x64 is my loaner gun to clients for dangerous game. Here is an buffalo & elephant shot with it.

Michael RobinsonThe 9.3x64mm is the ballistic twin of the .375 H&H Mag., which has been used to kill vast numbers of elephant and buffalo.
The 9.3x64mm will do the job on these animals - with good bullets and shot placement, of course, but that should go without saying.
It's another question as to whether it would be my first choice. The answer to that question is no.

ivan carteras mrlexma points out the 9.3 x 64 is the european twin of the .375, i have hunjted a lot of european clients using this calibre for ele and buff and not had a problem ..
i also agree with mrlexma that it would not be my first choice.... if i had a choice !

Wildlife ArtistThe reason I ask is with a tiny amount of filing it will fit in a standard Mauser magazine box. I don't have much ballistics info on it but it looks pretty good.
I know ammo is hard to find but when you find it buy a lot
