A10ACNHunting in Chad
Does anyone know if there is dangerous game hunting in Chad? If not, anything else worth hunting?

Use Enough GunI believe that they used to hunt (and maybe still do) Barbary Sheep in Chad. I hear that it's a fairly dangerous place however.

ErikDWhen I was in Chad a couple of years ago, I was told that Giant Eland, western buff and several other animals were huntable for tourists. And still are as far as I know. This hunting is in the south of the country of course.
In the north (I would think north of Fada), there might still be Barbary Sheep, but I'm not sure if they are huntable anymore.
I wouldn't be too nervous about the security in Chad if on an organized hunt. JMHO.

WandererI knew a Canadian guy that worked there for a while, he came away with some pretty good ivory 70+, not sure how it got the tusks.
Alain Lefol is the PH to talk to. He is the sole PH I know of operating in Chad.

dogcatThe most dangerous game there is the guys with the AK's.
We drilled a bunch of wells there a long time ago. Not a place I would go again, same as Nigeria and Pakistan. A sewer of the first order.

Rich ElliottChad is do-able through Lefol. It's the only place for Western Greater Kudu. A new record head was taken last year.

WinkThere are two types of hunting in Chad, Barbary sheep and Western kudu in the Eastern highlands and central African plains game on the Central Africa border near the Sudanese border. There is a sub species of buffalo (not cape buffalo), there is Lord Derby Eland and there is a variety of plains game. The areas are a little dicey at times in terms of security. You should speak directly to Alain Lefol to get the current possibilities. All hunts are true expeditions and it ain't cheap.
