Tim_Wegner300 grain .375 "A"Square Lion loads for leopard?
Has anybody used these loads on spotted kitty's? I Picked up a couple boxes to see how they shoot in my .375 (in relation to the 300 grain Trophy bonded Bear Claws)
Thanks
Tim

MARK H. YOUNGTim,
I've seen those lion loads used and I don't believe I would shoot anything with them. Penetration is truly pitiful. I'm sure they would work fine on a braodside leopard but as your safari load you'd be in trouble with something big and a poor shot angle. The TTBC is a much better bullet that I personally have shot leopard and quite a bit of plains game with.

AtkinsonNot a bullet I personall would use, but they might work really well on a Leopard but you could end up with a lot of skin damage, and thats not good at all...
I would use Northforks my self..

Stick with Trophy Bonded , I'm yet to see one fail - you wont be sorry .

Use Enough GunI secpmd that. I have yet to have a trophy bonded bear claw fail or not take game. Good bullet like many others mentioned on AR.
Trophy Bonded are probably the way to go. Don't use Failsafe, they either act like a solid and go through with no damage on a lion or if they open the pedals break off.

Phil LozanoDear Sir,
Out of a 375, the Trophy Bondeds will not open. I have seen a number of them used on Lion and they do not open. They WILL kill the Lion or Leopard, but don't count on them opening up.
The ones I have seen used on Lion, have a 375 hole going in and a 375 hole going out on broadside shots. They act as solids.
Are you bringing a lighter rifle ? The last 2 Leopards we shot last year, were shot with a 35 Whelen. Blew both of them out of the tree.
The Whelen with 250 grain bullets is a sure killer on Leopard. JMO.
Best,
Phil

Tim_WegnerGuys
Been out
of pocket until today.
Thanks for all the input. I think I'll stick w/TBBC in the standard velocity.
