KwanBe very careful out there ...
David
I have been scouring the photos, but not yet, as you know clients do not want too see pictures of snakes ? go figure, so I threw it in Gog Knows Where,
I did take the dead snake too the Pretoria Zoological Gardens as I did not know what it was, At that stage the Mfezis I have seen and ran into were the normal size.
The guy from Acquirium ( did I spell taht wrong) said that he would have paid me R 5000 and that was in 1999/2000 for the snake alive
My opinion was, ME and Client in Small Ground Blind and One Bif!@#$@#$ sNAKE comes in - F@#$# THE MONEY THE SNAKE DIES

NzouIt looks a lot like a dark form of the Cape cobra to me, but am not 100% sure! Either way, it must have been quite a surprise, probably always a good thing to turn the light on!

Dr. Tim BurkhartDavid,
I just hope it is not a Mahenye cobra!

NzouI have heard one or two horror stories of snakes (mainly cobras and pythons) hanging around 'long-drop' bush toilets. I think they are attracted to the fact that they are often shady (dark!), and cool. I could imagine that meeting an angry mamba, cobra or 5m python when you are most vulnerable could be most unpleasant! It is probably always a good idea to look around the floor for anything suspicious, like a tail sticking out of a crevice, or a dark, shiny pipe that might not actually be a pipe, etc. A torch is always a very useful accessory!

Steve MalinverniKwan, I saw smoething of Jbook, not all. I do not love Disney mentality.
Nzou, it can be whatever kind of cobra, but I really prefer if it stays far aways from my ass and genitals.
my only doubta is: it was really necessary destroy the bowl? maybe a .22LR was enogh for it. And where did it go? in the second photo I do not see any snake.
