Maybe he wanted to become a part of the pride, like that idiot in Alaska wanted to be a part of the bear community. One succeeded, the other did not.

The emotion the viewer instantly experiences is fear, first on behalf of oneself as one superimposes oneself into the situation; then on behalf the person in the enclosure.

The next emotion that joins with fear is sadness, you again almost instantly, reaffirm that you yourself are not in danger; but some poor mentally ill person IS.

And, it was SELF IMPOSED!!!

Severe Mental Illness is the medical condition that I hope NOT to be afflicted with, more than any other.

Cancer, heart desease, etc. all seem less frightening to me.

If your mind "goes" - you can't even help yourself.

This poor guy felt the best thing to do, [then and there] was to walk unarmed among lions.
Imagine YOURSELF having a mind that so severely failed to process information correctly!

Maybe I am being cruel, but to me the worst part of this situation is that if the idiot had been killed, they probably would have euthanized the lions....that would be the real tragedy here.

I am surprised how little damage the lion appears to have done when it went for the guys arm???

I was hoping the tranq gun was going to be used on the nutty guy, not the lions...

If the lion had not been there, I think that the lioness would have killed him. I agree about the tranquilizer gun though!
