9.3 x64 Brenneke bullets for Africa
After reading the article in Sports Afield between Kevin Robertson and Craig Boddington.

I have this question to ask.

I have a pair of the above rifles. I will be using 250gr Barnes TSX's for NA. I am confident that bullet will do anything I need in NA.

But what about Cape Buffalo for when I make it to Africa? PG will probably be part of the trip also.

Just switch to a Barnes 286gr soft/solid combination?

I believe in the tried and true and would lean towards the standard 286gr bullets myself.

But what about the 300gr Swift A-Frame?
Or 320gr Woodleigh soft/solid offerings?

I owned a 416 Rigby, but I couldn't get used to the recoil. Hence the 9.3's.

I really enjoy shooting the 9.3's and do so fairly well IMO. They are enjoyable to shoot and will use them quite a bit more before going to Africa.

Especially interested in hearing from the PH's, and of course, I will discuss this with the actual PH.

300grn SWIFT-A-FRAMES and 320grn WOODLEIGH solids.
Done deal.
IMHO.

This is how they often come out if recovered from a 9.3x62. And although they are 286grn solids, the 320s come out the same if recovered.

Here is the link to the magazine. It doesn't show the article, but click on PH Roberstons "Ask.." section and he discusses heavy for caliber bullets on DG.

"Ganyana" has written two articles in "Rifle" Magazine. Really enjoyable reading and should tell you what you need. Download the Jan-Feb 2009 Preview PDF to get the latest article.
