Very funny. You must have heard the old joke though: The difference between doctors and lawyers is that doctors bury their mistakes.

T.CarrIf you have a swimming pool and a gun. It is 70 times more likely that your child will drown than be killed by the gun.
Ban swimming pools - save a child.

Balla BallaNext time you come across someone espousing gun control give them a copy of this information to alleviate their fears ..
Came across this in out local SCI NZ Chapter ( Safari News ) publication
PHYSICIANS:
a) The number of physicians in the US is 700,000
b) Accidental death causeed by Physicians per year are 120,000
c) Accidental deaths per physician is 0,171
( Statistics courtesy of US Dept of Health & Human Services)
GUNS:
a) The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000
b) The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500
c) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0.000188
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerious than gun owners ...
REMEMBER "Guns dont kill people, doctors do"
FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR
Please ALERT your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before it gets completely out of hand !!!!
Out of concern for the public at large, I have witheld the statictics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention ...
SEnd a copy to your congressmen just to help them have a good nights sleep

Have a wonderful day in the good ol' USA

jbderunzHow can you see when a lawyer is lying?
Because when he speaks, his lips are moving.

RIPGeez, Peter, haven't we seen this posted here about ten times in the last 3 years? Usually it shows up in the humor forum. These cannot be current statistics, always the same year after year. Physicians are supposed to keep practicing until they get it right. One would expect some variance from year to year. A definition of accidental death by physician has never been included either. Many of those "accidental deaths" inflicted by docs would be found to be minor fumbles in last ditch efforts to save some human wreck, self ravaged by obesity, alcohol, tobacco, other street drugs, motor vehicle mishaps, and acts of God. And then there are a few really stupid screwups ... but for the most part, it is ... oh, well ... "Oops? What do you mean 'OOPS?'" ... HO HO HO for the umpteenth time.
