KenscoTrophies & Guns - Zimbabwe
Anyone experience problems getting their guns or trophies out of Zim?

ErikDI had no problems leaving (or entering) Zim with my guns this past July, and although my trophys haven't been shipped yet, I don't foresee and problems.
Do you have any reason to expect trouble?

GanyanaGuns in and out of zim are no problem. We don't mind semi Auto's or handguns, but military looking semi Auto's can cause hassles and absolutly No ex full auto rifles that have been converted to semi auto. Ie you can bring an AR15 but not an M16 that has been altered to semi Auto only. If you want to import any firearm capable of full auto, you need to apply in advance.
Getting trophies out...Depends who you use and weather it is dip and pack or taxidermy work.

DPhillipsI left Zim on Oct 2, and had no problems whatsoever. The check-in and security people at the Bulawayo airport were very nice and helpful. Those of us with firearms were pulled aside and given immediate attention. The people inspecting the firearms and checking the luggage were very professional and helpful. Was probably the easiest and most gun-friendly airport out of the 5 on the whole trip.
Hoping the hides, skulls, horns don't have any problems either.

safarimanOne of the reasons that I like Zimbabwe so much is that I can take several guns including a shotgun and a revolver. Adds a lot to the fun of the trip for me. I also have found the airport security staff exemplary, as have the many hunters that I have booked into there.
