Gun Safe/Security in Cape Town
I arrive in Cape Town May 6th and will be in residence with family of a close friend until I depart on May 10th. However they do not have a safe for my rifle.

I have tried Air2000 and they do not have facilities in C.T. and also have been trying Securicor but have not had any joy getting someone to answer the phone number I have been given.

Any other suggestions? Thanks in Advance.

Ask your friends to visit any good local gunshop and they should offer to store your rifles for just a few dollars.

Shakari,

What is the stituation in Victoria Falls? Do most hotels have facalities or can you just leave your guns in your luggage in the hotel room. I did this in Joberg in one of the better hotels.

Steve,

Doesn't the new RSA gun law now require safe storage of firearms. I don't think you can leave your firearms in the hotel room anymore, like we used to do in the past.

Don't think ZIM has the same law, but not certain.

Regards,

Terry

Last time I was there they were willing to store firearms but I'm a bit out of touch and don't know the current situation......I guess the guy to give you the most reliable and up to date info would be Ganyana.

Terry,

The new act does stipulate a secure storage but most good hotels have either a proper gunsafe in the strongroom or a big strongroom with one keyholder......but to be honest anyone doing this should really check with their outfitter and ask them to check the situation out. It would be wrong of me to interfere in someone else's booking.
