Devildawg66Mind Boggling
After posting that I was planning a 1st Africa hunt with my young daughter, the information I have received has been great. Based on some of that info, I have decided to push our hunt out until June, July or August of 2007. In addition, it seems that our best bang for the buck would be some place in Nambia hunting from the trophy menu and not taking a package.
However, I must say that I have spent the entire day today reading various Nambia outfitters web pages and it is just mind boggling trying to decide who to contact. Prices are all within a couple hundred of each other, accomendations and services are all very similar, as are the trophy prices. It's almost like one should just put all the names on a dart board, close your eyes and shoot.
I'm sure I'll settle on someone, but I'll probably need a seeing eye dog when I'm done reading all this good stuff.

Charles_HelmYou can have a lot of fun with the planning stage, but always check recent references and ask a lot of questions. Look at Terry Carr's
What to Ask list for some ideas.
There are some good questions in you other thread to help you narrow things down. I wanted a non-ranch hunt in a tented camp. Others want more comfortable acommodations and there is nothing wrong with a large, well-run ranch with native game.
Good luck with your trip.
I meant to post this before, but forgot. I took way too many pictures when I was in Namibia and you can see what Vaughan's camp on one conservancy looked like (among other things)
here.
My wife and Ihunted last june near
Windhoek at Keerweder with Btian and Ina Miller.
We took 14 Animals all good animals with most being gold medals. The 53" Kudo looks great in the living room. This is a ranch hunt, and is about 50,000 acres. It takes 1/2 a day to ride the edge of it. Brian and Ina will treat you like a king. This would be a great first hunt, you dont want it rough on your first time out.

hikerbumI hunted in May 2005 at Gras Ranch. Here is the website.
http://www.zingelasafaris.com/ I would highly recommend it. The people, facilities, land and trophies are fantastic. They own over 90,000 and manage for high trophy quality.
If you contact Errol, tell him Kurt says hello
