Aluminum cast elephant feet
I just opened my crate from Zimbabwe, and I wanted to show you all the novel trophy item that was made for me by Simply Simbi, a decorative aluminum casting company owned by Buzz and Stephanie Charlton.
The feet are skinned out at the recovery, and salted. After returning to Harare, Buzz and Stephie's craftsmen create a sand mould from the feet, and using aluminum recycled from auto radiators, cast these replicas. The wear pattern of the foot you've followed is reproduced.
I may never see my ivory again, but I've got more from my bull than tail hair bracelets.
That's the first time I've seen this. Pretty cool

Now that is unique. That would be a GREAT conversation piece. I would try to find a way to show off the bottom of his feet, knowing those are the tracks you followed is so special.

We did the same. The crate went to the tannery first, so we haven't placed our hands on them yet. Neat idea, but it had to be hers. There's no way Buzz would have thought of it ....

No Permits or regulation hoops to jump through.
Now could a quick mold be taken of an out cold darted Rhino to make a similar trophy? Maybe of the horns too.
Where I used to work we had a two part RTV molding compound that would cure in a couple minutes.

Glad they arrived and they do look great! "nhoro"- to be honest it was Justins idea!!! I have just hunted an elephant with a fellow that we followed the same bull for 3 days - believe me after 3 days you know every crack and wear in the feet and to replicate that is awesome!!!
