What is a good sized leopardtrack in Africa ? And what is huge ? How big of a track can huge female get ?

Aaron NeilsonOf course JMO, but this is what I generally go by. Measured in inches, if the pad is 2 1/8 - 2 1/4 wide, its ok, if its 2 1/4 plus its big, and if its 2 1/2 plus, its huge.
Also, I am sure based on locale sizes could differ a bit.

I would like to see that!!!!
Have a look at this leopard taken in TZ. Id say his track would have looked like a lioness.
I have never kept exact mesurement and have always gone on sight but, Depending on country and area generally anything smaller than 3 1/2 inches on the front foot bottom of pad to front of toes is small, above this maybe worth a look, 4 inches and above big! Remember sand will spread the toes and will make the track look bigger however you measure.

A.DahlgrenSo 2 1/4" wide and 4" long is a good one ? How big of a spoor can a female make ? How big must it be to exclude the spoor as a female ?
A.Dahlgren
It really depends on the area! but I doubt a female will reach 4" long (bottom to top include toes) anywhere.
If I may, Why do you ask?

A.DahlgrenIm looking into a leopard hunt and its always nice to be a bit "educated". I have been to Zimbabwe and Namibia and hunted spots and seen tracks of females and males in both countries. In both countries we found tracks of a female and a male was walking together, it s not easiest to see in the soft sand. Next time i will take a measuring tape.
Thanks again
