JAGIn The Blood
I am interested in this movie, and am considering buying it. I thought I would run it buy the folks here and see if it was worth purchasing or should I just rent it. For any who dont know its a documentry of two hunts, Roosevelts in 1909 and his great great grandson in 1989, I believe with great grandads 450 H&H.
TIA,
JAG

RBHuntI like the movie OK, but after watching it once or twice, I doubt you would watch it again. I would just rent it.

Michael RobinsonI bought it a couple of years ago and enjoy watching it every few months. It's a great movie. The best "hunting" film ever made. It includes wonderful archival footage of TR's safari in British East Africa and is worth the price for that alone.
The scenes with Robin Hurt are terrific. He is an articulate and passionate advocate for African hunting and offers true and lasting insights.
I would bet that if you rent it first, you will buy it for future viewing, especially with your kids and non-hunting friends.

loud-n-boomerI also think that it is one of the best movies about African hunting around. I own it and would suggest it to others. The only major problem with the film is that since my daughter first watched it she has wanted to go hunting in Africa, and has threatened me with all sorts of tortures if I go back without her!

John FrazerI own it, have watched it 2-3 times and keep on hand to show to anyone who doesn't understand hunting but is open-minded.
Glad to hear it's available on DVD.

A tragic piece of "back story" I've read in a review -- the brush fire shown in the movie actually killed one of the camp staff, and destroyed one of the historic rifles used.
