SevensThe 700 is HUGE, both rifle and cartridge. If I was an elephant I'd run at the sight of you. Why does your 500 not have a trigger gaurd? Beautiful rifles, can't wait to see the results.

Atkinson700 Nitro,
I sure hope your a big tough boy in good phyical and can pack that monstrousity 10 or 15 miles per day and still be able to handle it quickly, Todays Africa has no gun barriers these days unless you get lucky or pay for one...

I suspect you will use the tiny one more than the other one.

MacD37Nice rifles, 700, enjoy your hunt! DAMN Butch put the cheekpiece on the wrong side!

700 nitroray i have been walking with my 700 quite a bit and in fact yesterday i walked 8 miles with it no problem and could have walked furthur
i lift weights quite abit and the fact is the 700 is only a few pounds more than my normal hunting rifle. so i am used to the weight.
the 700 is a under lever boox lock the 500 is top lever box lock
i love fire power!!!

JefferyDenmarkNice Battery 700
I sure that Mark Sullivan is jealous !

It must look nice when that 1000 grain bullet hits a warthog.

Can you get soft nosed for that thing ?
Cheers,

You mean INJURED, not tired
17 April 2004, 14:23
JefferyDenmarkWell raamw
If the rifle is heavy enough then just tired and used. I usualy shoot 20-25 shots of .500 jeffery and then it is tough to focus and have fun doing it. But then I just shoot the 375 and 8X57 and it feels like .22

But that .700 must kick a bit.

tell us 700 nitro ?

Andr

fredj338I only wish I could handle the recoil to be able to own a pair of cannons like those! I get worn out shooting 20 rds form my .404Jeff.

17 April 2004, 14:48
JefferyDenmarkI am going to the range tomorrow and plan to shoot as many as I can. We will se.

700 nitrothe recoil isnt that bad and it not uncommon for me to shoot around 40 rounds but most of the time i shoot 20 in each rifle that i bring to the range.
this rifle recoils like a red ryder bb gun compared to some of the other guns iv owened over the years.
17 April 2004, 16:57
JefferyDenmarkThank you 700 nitro
It sounds like the gun has a nice balance to it do you have any weight in the stock, kick stop etc. ?

700 nitronope just steel and wood. i dont like any type of recoil redusers on any of my guns.

JefferyDenmarkI hear you
all my guns are also " like god made then" streight up no ice.
