.505 Gibbs
Does anyone here have one of the CZ 550s or any other rifle in .505 Gibbs? I am thinking of getting one of the CZs in .505 Gibbs and i would like some information on the round from someone who has experience with it. Also, are there any other rounds with as much power or more than the .505 gibbs that i could get in a bolt action rifle for around 3 to 5 grand?

Thanks for any information.

Brad, who posts her under the name 505 Gibbs has one and a PM to him might be useful. i personally saw what he did to a hippo in Moz and it was impressive!!! a shot to the back of the skull damn near turn it over in the water as it was running/swimming away.

Yes I have A CZ 550 Safari and I love it the action is very strong like 70,000 psi I shoot Woodleigh Bullets 600 pp and 600 solids. it shoots a clover leef at 50 and anout an inch at 100 yrds. My rifle came from the custom shop I had a reducier in the stock and a break also had a trigger job done from the factory set at 3 lbs. You can contact Jason Morton at CZ-USA. My rifle has all ready dropped buffs at 150 yrds one shot pick him off his feet and stopped a charge at 10 yards.
