Is it good eating?

Wendell ReichYes.
Actually I don't know, but I own a computer, so therefore I am entitled to an opinion whether or not I have any actual facts to back it up.

Frank MartinezThe medalions were ok but not my favorite and not to be compared with Eland or Blesbok which I truly enjoyed.

Wendell ReichThat line has been in my head a while, it just had to come out!
It is good eating. A friend shot one and we ate some. Good stuff. I find most African horned game is good, have not et a bad one yet!

Use Enough GunYes, it is good. At least the Scimitar Horned Oryx that I shot a few years ago in South Africa was tasty.

What is even funnier is that a fair percentage of the folks on the internet actually believe it!

BuckshotazUse Enough Gun,
That is one nice looking stock on that rifle
I like Simitar Oryx meat better than any wild meat I've ever eaten, Eland included!
Wendell, it seems you might think some people on the internet would post falsehoods! I can't believe it!

Use Enough GunBuckshotaz: It's a custom thumbhole stock made by Cecil Fredi from Blonde Fiddleback Myrtle Wood for my .300 WSM. A pleasure to shoot and exremely accurate. I have taken over 70 plains game animals with it, from Giraffe(yes,Giraffe) to Steenbok. As an aside, the male Scimitar Horned Oryx in the picture had 40" horns.
MacD37,, you like the scimitar better than eland?? Gee, last time I cooked eland, kudu and gemsbock filets at the same meal and they were all really great,,,, I wish I could cook the scimitar and the eland side by side and give it a taste test,,,,,,might have to do it several nights just to make sure???? Like earlier stated,, I think all the horned plains game are pretty awesome,, could be the mopane wood or the southern cross makes it better,,,wish I was there right this minute to check out the taste buds,,,but bottom line Perry,,, the simitar eats really good!
you can make more money, you can not make more time
Grilled half a back strap last night and it was very good.
Wrapped it in bacon, seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder. Cooked it rare...no left overs between 6 of us.

sevenmagltd.I've had clients shoot several over the years here in Texas. When they say "You can have the meat, I've got plenty deer meat in the freezer", I get the feeling like I drew the ace at a card game and won the pot!

Equinsu OchaTASTEY!!!
Last summer, we took an Axis buck and a Scimitar in sucessive days. We had filets the same night. I preferred the Oryx; some preferred the Axis. Both were outstanding.
