Buffalo competition:
You have to determine the combined age of the bulls

Elephant competition:
You have to guess the combined weights of just the heaviest tusk from each of the 18 elephant shoot inn this year with CMS.

unless a tooth is removed and verified for age, all one is doing is guessing.
