About a month or so ago, well known PH and Outfitter Raoul Ramoni of Tanzania Big Game safaris was knocked by a buffalo suffering injuries to his leg. A huge gash just missed major arteries in his thigh. unfortunately, i don't have more details than this.

He is expected to make a full recovery shortly.

After having been " in among 'em " for the first time this month, I feel qualified all the way up to the novice level. I realize what the experienced buff hunters here mean when they talk about minium calibers ect. The power and strength of a buff has to be seen to be belived. The PH is indeed lucky and I wish him all the best..................JJ

Raoul is a nice guy, and very experienced with Buffalo. As far as I know, this is his first injury with Buffalo as an opponant! I guess if you fool with buffalo long enough, you are likely to get the horn, sooner, or later!

I had an email from Jan, Raoul's wife this morning. To quote her, "Raoul did indeed dance with a buffalo, but the buffal died!"

He is on the road to recovery! We'll see him in Reno.
