eagle27Apparently the current owner said he inherited most of the specimens from his father who must have been a prolific hunter or just purchaser of at least some of the stuff.
I doubt that any modern hunter would shoot enough elephant to get 198 tusks of the quality shown in some of the images.

cal pappasThe hall of tusks was really cool.

SaeedA friend came over years ago, accompanied by one of the main supporters of burning ivory in Kenya.
I was not aware of this.
But the conversation went to ivory.
I said with Kenyata's daughter employing poachers to kill elephants, and culminating in utterly stupid idiots who burned the ivory, one cannot expect any common sense from Kenya.
The conversation went very quiet then

lavacaSo the police are coming for us now. Don't they have better things to do?

BushPeterAmazing collection!
I wonder if all of them are hunted though. I see a black leopard and snow leopard. When were snow leopards last hunted?
And has a wild black leopard ever been hunted in Africa? Is/was canned leopard hunting ever done?
I think it would be easier to obtain an animal like that from a zoo where it died naturally.

If there is anything I hate more than the corruption in Kenya that killed so many elephant, it’s the horrid ivory burns.

Michael RobinsonAll I can say is that, even in the USA, under the wrong circumstances, you had better have your CITES paperwork in order, or proof that the trophies were taken pre-CITES.
