The A-Frame and the warthog
Among other animals, I also got a nice old warthog in Limpopo in May.
The shot was from behind as the hog darted out of the mud pool. I was on a dirt road slighty elevated and hit him in the back seconds before he hit the scrub.
Rifle M70 375 H&H, bullet Swift A-Frame 270 gr, range approx 70 yards.

When we came up to the hog he looked like beeing hit by a hand granade.

We thought the bullet has desintegrated, but in the skinning shed it was found under the skin in front of the chest.
The bullet was as perfect as one can wish.

No wonder I was a happy hunter Smiler

( and by the way...this is my first attemt to post a picture !! )

Congrats on the warthog AND the picture!

I would assume that the explosive performance is due to the spine shattering on impact. Nice shot placement!

Boghossian is right...the spine disintegrated and blew the backskin to shreds.
Not a nice sight but a very dead hog.

Vapodog....yes, the old 375 did the job all right from steenbook to wildebeest Wink
