The pictures above are of the female leopard that had provided us with lots of entertainment, by keeping falling off the bait as it fed.

We had three separate leopards feed on that bait, all of them too you.

The cracked neck case has been on safari at least 15 times.

We are getting very good life from our cases because our sizing dies were cut to the same specs as the reamers.

Photo credit goes to everyone on our safari.

Even Walter has contributed one or two, which boggles the mind rotflmo

Photos of most of the birds and insects were from Maktoum.

I am relieved that the flying saucer turned out to be a terrestrial drone like Saeed uses to take photos.
No alien abductions of hippos suspected.
Alien abduction of Walter could have been confusing to aliens.

If you look carefully at the side of this eland, you will see my two bullet holes which I fired at him after we have found him sitting on the ground. I thought he was standing from where I was, and was amazed he did not move after the first shot. So a quick second shot was fired, before we realized he was actually sitting on the ground already dead!

This is what a fully prepared safari hunter looks like! Rifle, ammo, knife, video camera, still camera, and off course the shooting sticks

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

That concludes my hunt report for this year's safari, picture wise.

I am going to start working on the videos, and will post as I get them done.

I have done a few in slow motion, and post these later today.

All videos are going to be posted in my first post at the top of this thread.

I have tried to include most of the things one encounters on safari, and I hope you enjoy both the photos and videos.

Yes you did.

It is an invention by Pete, as he is tasked with an incredibly difficult task.

Getting Walter to within shooting distances.

Years ago Walter had an agreement with Pierre when we were hunting with him.

I am not too sure about the exact distance, but something like; kongoni 100 meters. Warthog 80 meters. Impala 70 meters and so on.

One day Walter was attempting to shoot a warthog which was walking away.

Pierre : Quick up Walter shoot. He is 60 meters, 65 meters, 70 meters, 80 meters. STOP! He is too far now!

Peter has been using this method with great success.

I have started on the video of this year's safari, and hopefully it won't take too long to finish.

I am really sorry for the delay this year, as I seem to have quite a busy travel schedule.

Will let you all know when ready to order your copy.

I appreciate your patience.

Saeed,

The slow motion videos are very interesting.
One can see bullet impacts, both on game animal and on the earth behind them from pass-throughs in several of them.
The exit wound on the leopard could be seen as he tumbled off the tree limb.
You certainly crossed his I and dotted his T.
Ditto the crocodile. Spine shot/neck? He went nowhere, DRT.
One can follow the track of the bullet through the air as an arching shockwave on several.
The buffalo and waterbuck were my favorites.
I especially like the slo-mo sound effects on the waterbuck video.
That one sounded like Walter was doing his spooky sounds at a Halloween haunted house for the kiddies, after the waterbuck went down.
Thanks for sharing.

I am in the process of sorting out the video of this years safari.

I am making two separate versions, one in the usual 1080P FULL HD, and another one in 4K for those who have 4K playback equipment.

I will start posting more videos as they processed.

I have added a few more videos.

The video is finished, and I am in the process of making copies.

I am leaving the country in a few days, and will be back early January, when I will ask those who wish to get a copy to let me have their mailing address.

In the meantime, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy, Healthy New Year.

Saeed,

Thanks for the latest glimpse of Expedition 2017 in videos numbered 28-31 on first post.

The action shot of ticks crawling on that first downed buffalo's crotch was great! Live action instead of stills of buffalo ticks! tu2

Seriously, good stuff, much appreciated.

Mucho gracias again!

#32: Croc shot: Brain or neck, not much difference either way,
the croc brain is just a tiny bump on the end of the spinal cord.
He barely moved after the shot, except for a reflex tail thrash. Dead Right There. tu2

#33: Eland succumbed very quickly to a liver shot at pretty close range through the brush.
Then he got X-ed through the vitals by two more shots after he was long dead.
Proving once again, the effectiveness of the .375/404JS'96 on the largest of plains game in the brush.
Like Walter shooting a zebra-striped blanket draped over a log.
Everything from the sublime to the hilarious in that hunting video clip. tu2 tu2 tu2 tu2

#34: I appreciated the cameraman not lingering too long on that buff crotch, not enough ticks to amuse him, eh?
But there were flies in the blood on the side of the buff.
Speaking of flies, there are no flies on Alan's reflexes:
Saeed's rifle comes up, Alan's fingers go in his ears. tu2 tu2 tu2

#35: Hippo blood in the water draws crocs in a New York minute. tu2 tu2
