And I finally figured out the purpose of rifle-barrel fluting: Red fingernail polish.
Outstanding photographs as usual.

Great report and fantastic photos as always. Impressed with the quality of the buffalo. Gorgeous Nyasa Wildebeest.

Finally glad to hear there are elephant about, hopefully starting to calm down from the bad poaching.

Above are photos I extracted from the video of the leopard falling off the bait.

She provided us with a lot of amusement.

The videos are of course more entertaining.

I will post these once I am home and have a proper Internet connection.

Tomorrow is Maktoums last hunting day.

Monday is a break for Team B.

Walter and Roy start hunting on Tuesday.

Amazingly, we had a full moon over Kentucky on the same day as the full moon occurred over Tanzania, and it looked just like this:

That would have been October 5, 2017.
Am I right?

Even more amazing is the pile of wonderful photography Saeed is sharing here. Thanks!
I smell leopard, or leopard bait, not sure which, when I look at those StealthCam/trailcam photos.

Would that animal with the twisted horns be the elusive walterbuck?
And better tell those guys napping in the grass that's the way the buffalo ended up with all of those ticks. rotflmo

Walter starts hunting today! rotflmo

All sorts of threats have been thrown at Pete!

Yesterday we had what one might call a buffalo hunt and a half.

We saw the fresh tracks of a herd, and decided to follow them.

Found them before long, and tried to get ahead of the as they were feeding in a thicket.

After a 5 kilometer flat run, up hills and down gullies - sometimes us sliding on our backsides downwards.

We caught them and managed to shoot one in a most inaccessible place.

We had to cup him up, and transport the meat several times in an ATV to the truck.

Finished late in the afternoon, and decided to call it a day.

Walter shot an impala today, and I shot a bushbuck.

We had a bit of fun with hippos in the Forrest, getting chased by irate hippos.

Just a note on some of the super clear animals and bird photos.

These are taken by Maktoum with his Nikon D850.

Another Walterhog went squirrely.
But I did notice it was dug out of the off-side hide of a dead animal.
Blank happens, eventually, even with home-made bullets, lathe-turned from lightning rods.
They kill like lightning, succeeding even when the occasional one fails to mushroom, and bends like a banana.

Thanks again for many more photos enjoyed,
all are beautiful, except for the few of Walter, which always remind me of my mother-in-law.
Escapism killers those!
Do not waste Maktoum's talents and camera on Walter, please!

The D850 receieved glowing reviews on the camera enthusiast websites - from your pictures they are clearly deserved. Crystal clear, razor sharp and spectacular colors.
