Jaco HumanWill you be interested in this hunt
After the RSA AR party I spoke to Steve "Shakari" , btw his name was changed to "SSS" about next years Function. We thought it might be a good idea to organise hunts before and after the party.
This is the idea. First group arrive before the function for a hunt. The hunt ends on the Friday the show starts. On that Friday the 2nd group arrives. We all go to the show on the Saturday and have a huge function that evening.
On the Sunday the first group depart home and the 2nd group leaves on the hunt.
It will be a plainsgame hunt. The hunts can be between 7 days and 10 days. The groups should not be bigger than a maximunm 10 hunters. We want to keep the prices as low as possible. We want to involve as many members as possible.
What do the members think about this idea.
Please give us an indication if you are interested. I have allready discussed it with the owners of the show, they are happy that we arrange the function with the show.

Jaco HumanAnn,
We will make sure that we can accomodate all who is joining in.
The temp is still hot, you will love the break from the cold, but it is manageable. The good thing is that we will have extended hunting time

GrumulkinI would be interested as I'm currently shopping for a RSA or Namibia safari for around that time (when things are still a bit green). If I were to participate, I would have to know about prices and other details SOON.

patrkyhntrMy wife and I did a RSA hunt in 2003 March. The temperatures were high (mid nineties), but the humidity low, so it was tolerable. All in all, a pleasant change from the snow and ice we left in Pennsylvania that year.
I might be interested, but only if I can bring my wife. She loves Africa and would not stand for being left behind.

If your wife is as pleasant to share a camp as you (even if the temps are single digit, snow is two feet deep and the wind is 40KPH as we experienced), she will be quite a pleasant person to be around!

LRH270Is there any possibility of doing a few days of bird shooting that time of year instead of doing PG?
A fall bird shoot in March when there's nothing to hunt here would be a definite draw.
RSA bird shooting is such a well-kept secret to be so awesome......

Gerhard.DelportYes, we could do bird and bow hunt during March.
It all depends on the location but the rock pigeons are all ready flying. They are probably the fastest birds on the wing in Africa.
Bow hunting can also be an option this time of year. I returned from a successful bow hunt this morning, I harvested a 22 inch Impala with the bow yesterday.

She is, Judge G. If she wasn't, I wouldn't still be married to her 47 years later.

Jaco HumanGentleman and our Fair lady,
The whole idea is to have a very enjoyable hunting trip. Thanks for the suggestion so far, we will definately try to get a some bird hunting included. Wifes will be more than welcome, it is always a pleasure having the ladies in the camp, they keep the men at bay

We would like to have at least 6 hunters in each party. We want to keep the cost as low as possible, without sacrificing quality. We are looking at hunting either in Limpopo or in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The property must be large enough to accomodate at least 10 people, so we need at least 12 to 15 000 hectares, preferably much bigger. At the moment we are working on 2X1 hunts, but that is not cast in stone.
Hopefully we will be able to put out prices within the next week.
Jakals, Congratulations on the Impala, I'll come over for a taste of the biltong.

Jaco HumanTo summarize
The hunt will take place in March
Rifle and bow hunting will be accomodated
We will also arrange a wing shooting outing for those who are interested.
Females are welcome, it will be nice to have families.
We need at least 6 persons per group.
One group will hunt before the RSA AR party and the other group after the party.
The party will be hosted on the Saturday evening at the Aim Adventure show. Both groups will spend the Saturday at the show.
Thanks for the responses so far.

Jaco HumanI have spoken to Pierre van der Walt today, it looks as if the show will move towards the end of April. We are just busy with a couple of final negotiations before we publish the prices, it will be good prices.
