DonatoRe: My New Mexico / Fort Bliss Gemsbok pics. Finally!!
M1, I shot a 38 1/2 inch female on the small missile range a few years back. I grew a tag on my first try. I've since shot two more in SA. Neat animals.

DesertRamThaine, you are not allowed to carry cameras on Missle Range hunts. As Bill said, Ft. Bliss has different rules. I've hunted the Small Missile Range three times (me - 2000, a buddy - 2001, and my wife - 2002) and at no time were cameras allowed. I too left mine with the taxidermist.
I don't know about the northern hunt areas (Rhodes Canyon and Stallion Range), but I would assume the rules are the same since it's the same property.

ThaineThanks Guys, I didn't figure it had changed. I got the call from G&F yesterday. I'm on for a depradation hunt (I was #179 on the list). White Sands is supposed to call me this week. I'll have two days notice for the one day hunt. Looks like it will be on the Small Missle Range. Same rules as my '02 hunt, no cameras, no handguns, hunter orange, etc. etc. Biggest problem I see,

is it may be a case of "there's a broken horn, shoot him" vice a chance to hunt and pick one. The warden I hunted with in '02 said it usually depends on the "mood" of the escort. Either way I'm pumped. Ruger #1s get the nod with a 375 H&H as primary and a 300 Win mag as backup.
