Youtube video of a man being attacked by lion12 October 2007, 19:10
RobinOLocksleyWhat a horribly tragic thing to have happened! For the man and for the Lion!

ClaymanThat's what happens when you try to tame dangerous animals. It's a terrible tragedy both the lion and the man had to go through something like that. I'd like to see some backstory to find out how that situation started. There's always more information than what you see on the video.

CopidosomaWhy oh why do we have animals like this in captivity?
I did like the dog that snuck in part way through...

Hey, what's going on in.....

WhitworthIt truly shows that if the lion wants to kill you, it is equipped to do so at the drop of a hat.......

yukon deltaThat wasn't even a big lion...it looked kind of thin and unhealthy to me. It didn't exert much effort either. Any more to the story? Looked like a travelling circus.
A .38 on lion...well, I didn't see ANY reaction to the first shot. Maybe he missed? It's hard to tell from the video. I knew when the lion started lashing its tail that it was about to get nasty.

PalmerOur town has 62 live performance shows. One is a magic act that uses white tigers, a black bear and other animals.
One newspaper writer quized the magician about what would happen if a tiger got into the audience since there is no barrier on the front of the stage and people are sitting 6 feet or so away from the stage.
The magician told the reporter that there was no worry because he had a 38 revolver back stage.
I always wondered how that was going to work.

Jim ManionPretty amazing that people get "surprised" like those in the video when lions do what nature equipped them to do.

RaySenderoY'all are not going to believe this!!!!!!!!
I caught the "MAURY" show on TV yesterday evening between 5 and 5:30 EST. They had this same video on it. They had edited out the multiple shots from the .38; Reported the lion was shot with a tranquilizer!!!! And returned to the footage right where the lion let go and rolled over dead!
Can you believe these political correct SOBs!!!!

yukon deltaNot surprising. You should email them and say that you know the "rest of the story".

Its simple: The Magician says those famous words ABRA-CADABRA and the pistol will, like magic, appear and all will be saved.

PalmerBob - good point. I feel better now.
I was imagining that a couple of those full grown tigers (Stripey and Branson) would go nuts some night and leap into about the 6th row. Then the magician (I doubt if he has ever shot the pistol) starts firing at the cats in the audience while the untouched tigers blithely rip another arm off someones grannie.

IndlovuThat is a Royal Bengal Tiger, and yes, they can jump onto the forehead of the elephant or into the howdah (the seat on the elephant's back). when tiger were hunted on elephant back, "howdah pistols" were used for close quarter emergencies.
