GG375Another "done up" CZ.
Guys
Thought you might like to check out my nearly completed .416R. It has a few nice features that you might appreciate - custom foresite and quarter rib, extended floor plate, one of Ed Webbers trigger conversions, PME 3 pos safety, bolt release button built up and checkered, custom bolt handle with checkering and engraving and new stock.
Just need to lower the comb a tad, blue and refinish the stock - ie add black forend tip and get rid of shiny finish and I might change the pad to a red one.
Hope you like it. I do.
GG
Will post some more later if anyone is interested.

Borealis BobKeep it coming....looks very nice.

fla3006Extremely nice, especially that front sight. Looks like first class work all the way around. (yes post some more pics)
27 August 2004, 15:47
WillCute, cute, cute. Who did the floor plate for you?
27 August 2004, 17:15
ForrestBReally nice. I can barely see the CZ lineage.
A red pad would be a classic look, but you really don't need an ebony tip on this one. It has that classic working gun look just the way it is.
All you guys who are having the CZ's re-made should send pictures to CZ. Maybe they can get some ideas about the potential for their rifles if they would put a little effort into it.
That rifle has a much better look than the Winchester Custom Shop jobs I've seen.

I hate to ask but what did the 9 /12 rib run you
i know i am going to choke when you tell me.
i gave 167.50 for mine
My O My look's like you doing the full meal deal
NICE very nice

27 August 2004, 19:44
Stryker225Is there a finish on that?
I was thinking of getting an NP3 coating on the internals AND externals... eventually..
I hope that NP3 isn't too shiny.

BwanamichLooks very nice! How many rounds can you get in the amgazine? What does it weigh? I'm not too sure about that quarter rib; looks like the rear sight interferes with the scope line of sight! Do you need to set higher scope mounts?

Good idea.

NitroXhey mate
any update on that other big bore?
Nice looking 416 Rigby.

fredj338Nicely done GG. Reminds me I need a new .375 project rifle.

AtkinsonVery nice indeed, that's about where my CZ is headed now that I have Africa behind me, and bloodied it...
I really like the M-70 safty, bolt handle, thats my next project on my CZ, the original cocking piece houseing on the CZ is a thumb bumper, and that smarts big time...
This winter I'll build a nice stock to replace the laminate I was force to use this year...I passed on the quarter rib on this gun (a 404) and opted for the Talley pop up peep and a barrel band front sight and sling swivel. I am seriously thinking of making it a 20 inch gun just for the hell of it..I havn't had one of those in many years...

GG375Thanks for the compliments guys.
Will
The floor plate was milled up by one of our best Aussie guys - Bob de Vries in Melbourne.
Martin
Don't know how much the rib cost to do - just got a total for the whole job.
Cool Guy
No finish yet - its in the white but soon will be rust blued.
Johan
You have a good memory bloke!! - and you're right it will make a good mate for the .270.
Bwanamich
It takes 4 down very comfortably and feeds really nicely. Weight is 10.5 pounds empty with scope and mounts. The rear sight blades can't be seen in the scope but the foresite can at low power.
NitroX
Having trouble with an export permit from the US State Dept apparently. Once thats sorted Butch reckons he needs 3 weeks or so to finish her and then she goes in the mail. Can't wait!
And here are a couple more photos -

WillIn all your idle time

could you ask if he would make me a floor plate and how much he might charge.
Thanks.

okie johnI never respond to these posts, but I have to make an exception for this rifle. It's gorgeous. Who did the front sight?
Thanks, Okie John.

JefferyDenmarkDang nice work what a gem, and great caliber too.
Who did your cross bolt engraving
Cheers,
Andr
That is a great looking rifle, explain a little more about the front sight I have requested Bob do that on my .404 Jeffery, what is the large disc for on the side ??

The button locks the hood. When you push it in the hood pivots forward and lies on the barrel. You can then change beads etc. I think this was the first one Bob has ever done - I sent him a picture of one I liked and he took it from there. It's his usual magnificent work.
Cheers

Awsome GG,
Bob's stuff is the finest I have ever seen.....he has some rifles he has built there that are IMHO brilliant works of art. As more people find out about him his turn around is getting longer.....we should never speak of Bob on the internet again
