fla3006,
Who could doubt? Thank you for the moral support.

Will,
I held a seance at my home with a ouija board. It was spooky. When Pondoro was summoned by the necromancer, the keyboard of my PC commenced to clickety-clacking all by itself, steadily for about an hour. It was painful to watch all the typos and corrections in progress as the epistle appeared in my junk mail. I have not corrected the remaining typos, for authenticity sake, but hope it is legible enough.

Pondoro poked elephants and native women better than he did a typewriter, eh?

Fischer,
There was no return-addy on the seance generated junk email. Gives me the shivers when I think about it.

Norbert,
Your post means a lot to me, greatly appreciated. Now I shall lay low for a while. One of these days, with Pondoro's permission, I will "let her rip," as it aint over 'til the fat lady sings, or at least RIP's a good one.

PWN375,
Please do not send the men in white coats just yet.

Recono
Pondoro explicitly badmouthed the practice of visitors' poking the local women. He had more than a little to say on this subject. Doesn't prove he didn't do it, but it's a hint.

Will,

One doesn't have to have a death grip on a hogback to control the gentle muzzle lift of the Lux stock. It is not that bad. Many of us can control them, no problem. I am an equal opportunity shooter who welcomes a little variety in rifle stocks as the spice of life. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some beholders are not bigots when it comes to the Euro-Bavarian look. There are echoes of the Jaeger-Pennsylvania-Kentucky rifle in those heavenly hogbacks. I think they are cute and gentle shooters. Oink oink.

As for me RIPping off the joke idea that you are the illegitimate son of Pondoro ... remember, it was Pondoro himself who came through the digital ether to proclaim his paternity. It must be true.

P.S. He typed another letter to me last midnight, according to the junk mail:

"Rip, old boy,

What I really think about this numbers game is that it is foolish fun. That bloke Saeed has got it figured out. One bullet caliber and weight for everything. .375 caliber 300 grain. Fiddle only with one soft and one solid that shoots to the same spot. Never be caught in the bush scratching your turban as to what weight bullet is in the rifle at the moment of never-mind. That is the bloody basic foundation of happiness. The rest is just hobby fun. With all the great new bullets available to all my kindred in your era, they have no business carrying anything but a .375 caliber 300 grain bullet shooter. Just don't make your African Sheep Rifle (you clown!) too light, and the recoil number will stay low and keep the RIP up.

"Now it is best that I cut it off right here, lest they start thinking you are a liar at accuratereloading.com, and just pulling old Pondoro out of your Turban.

"One last tip: I enjoyed hunting nude except for me turban. Tracking Jumbo 30 miles per day in the heat and dust was much better naked. Just me and the boys and mother nature.

"Here in the Happy Hunting Ground, Karamojo Bell is a bit stand-offish because of the way I dress, which is habitually like I was on the track of Jumbo under the noon-day sun. Everytime he sees me coming, he grabs a case of 7x57 ammo and heads out for some wing shooting, without as much as a polite invitation for me to come along!

"Finn, George, and Peter are at least polite enough to exchange greetings but they always run off too, muttering something about Harry Manners being a better dresser than

yours truly.

"Oh well, some of my old boys made it up here to screw, er uh, to crew my elephant spooring, so it is off to the veld ..."

At that point I turned off the PC and started worrying about Pondoro addressing me as "old boy" and broke out in a cold sweat.
