I some how did not get the goose bumps I get when reading articles about great hunters.

I wonder how he hunted a tiger in Thailand and a Rhino in Angola.

I wonder who did the taxidermy

He made the statement that he was hunting internationally for 48 years.

That would mean he started in 1971. I think CITES was started after that. I know that the US laws about endangered species started in 1973. I think we were one of the first to do such a thing.

So I believe he legally hunted all that game. If you were rich back in the 70’s, very little was regulated as far as international hunting- if you could get it allowed in a foreign land, your home nation didn’t typically get involved.

The cultural and language differences probably make the English version come across differently. The article seemed rather stuffy. He made a mint, and has been spending all his free time hunting; most here would love to do that!

Bob Swinehart shot his first rhino in Angola in 1964, but had to be finished off with a rifle so it did not count as a bow kill.

He returned to Angola in 1966 and took one with a bow.

Ramat Shah is hard to beat as he has actually built his own museum which is open to the public.

The difference between his trophies and those of Sequeira is that his are all life size mounts.

Did not expect to see that the museum was going to open in my small hometown of Olivenza! Very cool.

Unfortunately it looks like the PC mob has struck again. There's an update to the article saying that because of the original story's publication the mayor has rescinded the offer to allow the museum to be housed in a municipal building. Something about trophy hunting not reflecting the "values" of the community and the fact that Gomez isn't an avowed socialist.

Another one of those big-time world wide hunters that used the 300 weatherby as his weapon of choice.
