It seems to me that the best or most reasonable conclusion to this is that, given the current circumstances, no one -- especiallly anyone from the US -- should hunt in Zimbabwe at all.

LE270,With all due respect, I have to disagree with you concerning hunting Zimbabwe. I have been on four safaris to Zim, the last one was in Sept. 2003. I am going back Sept. 2005. I love the country and the people. I have never been shown anything but kindness by everyone I have met there from government officials to the people living in tribal villages.
One night the Zimbabwe Police came to our camp looking for meat as they were far from their headquarters. My husband is an Illinois State Police Detective Sergeant. They talked for hours about the difference in law enforcement from the U.S. to Zimbabwe.
I think everyone agrees Mugabe and his henchmen need to go. But I will never give up on this country and I will continue to support the HONEST outfitters operating in the country.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and this just happens to be mine.

Legal Minimum in Zim is $4250 including trophy fees. At that rate though don't expect soda's or beers - or a good vehicle or.. The operator will be cutting every corner he can. Most reputable outfits here are selling a buff for 6500 to 6750 including trophy fee and road transfer. Under 6k and somebody is cutting corners or they have had a cancelation.

Shit, that's cheap......is that on Government owned land or private areas?

As an example,on HHK's website, www.hhksafaris.com their buffalo special is 5 days $950 a day, $2000 trophy fee. I am sure there are probably other outfitters right in the same ballpark.
