John SGranite Mountain Actions
Anyone here know the selling price on one of these actions?
How much do they weigh?
I'm going to build a new big bore and the GM is one of the actions I am considering, but need more info/details.

John SBrad,
3-15 for the bare action? Does your action have the .700 or .750 diameter bolt? I doubt that would have a huge impact on the weight but every ounce counts!
Thanks to both of you, much appreciated!

.750 Bolt . The base of my cartridge is .685 .
3lb , 15oz is the weight of the " African Magnum " ( .750 bolt ) Length - 9.695 .
The " Express Magnum " ( .700 bolt ) Length - 9.670 , weighs in at 3lb , 12oz .
What do you plan on building ?

John S460Wby or 450 Dakota. I currently have a 450 and want to change things a bit so will start over with a new rifle.
I wonder how these weights and dimensions compare with the H&W or Johansen actions?

DavidCJohn,
I have an extra Granite Mountain Arms brochure left over from the SCI show. It has all the specs for each of their action sizes. If you'd like it shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send it off.
At both the SCI & ACGG shows I saw the GMA action used a fair bit in conjunction with Krieger barrels and Joe Smithsons new QD rings.
Regards,
Dave
