Terry's 338 Recovered Bullets

Terry asked me to post these here, I am sure he will fill us all on the details.

Look like the typical X, eh.

Actually I think these triple shocks are a more dependable bullet than the standard BarnesX, I have only heard good things about them, they don't foul the bore nearly as bad, and they expand more dependably for starters..I am going to keep an open mind and give them a try...

Does Barnes have a web page with these bullets listed..

Does anyone have the length handy for an unfired .338/225 TSX? Inquiring handloaders want to know.

Thanks.

Ray,

If you call Barnes and talk to Ty he will probably be able to give you the scoop on availabillty and load data. I was impressed with Barnes' setup when we visted them last year, it's quite an operation.

RIP
BF,
Thanks for the link.

Ho ho ho geez! They are finally offering them in big bore calibers, even a 400 grain .423/404, 270 and 300 grain .375, 350 and 400 grain .416, 450 and 500 grain .458!!!

Maybe I can just stick with the 400 grain TSX for the 404 Jeffery when sheep hunting. I'll just keep it throttled back to 2400 fps and KNOW THE TRAJECTORY. BC for that bullet is a happy .537.

I was lost but now am found.

Now, when is Barnes going to start putting a flat nose and extra cannelures on their monometal solids? Move over GSC and WalterHog Boolit Werkes.

Or is that Valterhog Bullet Verkes?

Does anyone know what the bullets were used on and at what range?

Thanks BFF.....

I understand the bullet is available in 375 and 416 but I don't find any on the shelves or available at the usual places....I would like to try the 416s on Buff this year in the TSX bullet.

i am going to give the 30 cals a go this year on elk. Havent done any load development yet but everyone I know loves the TSX. The rings eliminate the fouling and pressure issues.

The 375s and 416s will not be available until mid year according to their web site.
