CaracalTiger fishing around Vic falls
Hello,
I would like to visit the vic falls on my trip to zim in august this year. I would love to do some fishing for tigers.
Can someone recommend a guide/service were I can rent a boat+equipment for tiger fishing somewhere near Victoria Falls?
Any other good things to do around vic falls?
Thanks!
Dennis

CaracalThx. Does he organize daytrips? I've already booked accomodation.
Can you give me an idea about costs. Did you catch good fish?

JudgeGI'll be with him in 22 days. If Russell tells you something, count on it! He can book anything from a complete safari to 1/2 day fishing. He'll get me at the airport, take me to Gorges Lodge, take me fishing, take me to eat, take me to the falls.... even to a photo trip to Zambia.

If you are good at fishing you will get some nice fish with Russ. I suck at fishing so I only got a few small ones

larryshoresI walked in unannounced mid morning. He arranged a tour to the falls then an afternoon if fishing. I don't recall exactly what I caught. I think it was around 15 tigers. I caught about the same number of another species that was good to eat. We had some for dinner. I didn't catch any particularly big ones.
I can't even begin to guess at the cost. This was 08 I think. That fact that I do not recall probably says it was reasonable.
We saw a heck of a lot of crocs and hippos. We saw quite a few elephant and impala on shore.

PSmithI'm not too interested in fishing, but I have to say tiger fishing on the Zambezi was absolutely the most fun fishing ever. It is a real jumping, fighting fish and getting one in the boat was a challenge.

butchlocone of the nicest gifts you can leave your PH is a good fishing setup. i don't know of any PH that doesn't love to fish, and gear isn't that easy to get there
