Aaron_Rust9.3X64 OR 8X68S
I have the itch for a new mauser rifle and am considering the 9,3x64 or 8x68S. Which would you choose for Namibia and why?
Thanks

What animals are you going to hunt? Both are fine cartridges. The 9,3X64 is about the same as 375H&H, I guess it will work for buffalo in hands of an experinced hunter.
The 8X68S is a fine allround caliber for plains game.

TSJI used an 8x68 a good bit in Namibia last Aug. Certainly plenty of power, but a bit to fast for the brushy north country. Would be a winner in the more open south.

Aaron_RustIt will be my everything gun up to where my .458 would take over... I will also have a .270win for my boys and If I want to shoot something smaller... I will be living there again... I reload, so ammo availability is not something I worry about - plus they are both available there.

lb404Aaron, will you and the boys be in Tulsa in April this year?

Andre MertensThe 9,3x64 is the full equivalent of the .375 HH and the 8x68S lies between the .300 and .338 Win Mag. You can't go wrong with either.
