lioness at Bubye with John Sharp
I am looking at a hunt for lioness with John Sharp at the Bubye.Any thoughts on the area for lioness and John Sharp. I would like to track them instead of in a blind.

John's great; getting older like all of us Wink

If he says he can find you cats, he will.

Best of success!

John gets top marks for sure. Bubye is a super area with lots of game and from what I hear plenty enough lions/ lionesses.

Johns trackers are good but before locking in dates make sure that John gives you prime dates for tracking.( I am sure you would do that anyway!) For example if you are tracking lions in the Valley late season is far better then early!

A late season Lion or Lioness tracking hunt is great. Plenty of fast setting up and shooting practice is valuable.

Buzz makes a good point which I overlooked, late would be better and I would look at one of the camps in the south. Lions have gotten very cheeky there in the last couple of years. I just had a friend shoot one last week and he said it was the most exciting thing he's ever done in his life. Be prepared mentally!!!

Randy,

Check the photo in the attached link for David's lioness he took and the huge male he photographed in the Bubye.

We were in Lemco (Bubye) in 2005 and you could not swing a dead cat (no pun intended) without hitting a lion. You will have a GREAT lion hunt. The Bubye is one of my favorite places.

John Sharp gets my hearty recomendation. I have spent many days in the field with John and he is 100% day and night. You will have a true hunt with him. They don't come any better than John and Issac. Give John all my best. I just saving money so I can hunt with him again. Would not consider anyone else.

Randy,

The link has camp photos and descriptions, species statistics, etc. Good luck on your hunt.

We stayed at the Samanyanga camp and it was incredible.

My safaris with John rank at the top of my list, elephant and leopard in two different areas. He is a real professional, respects the game and surroundings and will do everything he can to make a successful hunt. I can't wait to go back with him...but he is so heavily booked you better be prepared to wait a year or two before you can....and I don't plan that well!!
GO FOR IT!! You will have a great hunt and an experience you will never forget.
Cheers
