Parents have stopped their children from going to school for fear of being attacked by elephants.
They now want the Kenya Wildlife Service to intervene and ensure that the animals do not encroach on their farms.
Those interviewed said the animals had destroyed crops and attacked villagers in the past one week. They demanded that KWS compensates them for their losses.
Coast assistant director Philip Mwakio said KWS would put in place measures to ensure that the animals remained within the designated areas to reduce human-wildlife conflict.
"Wild animals have invaded human territories but we will come up with a permanent solution to avoid the persistent complaints from the area residents," he said.
"Kwale residents have suffered for a long time but we are currently repairing the fence to restrict movement of the animals".
Only last week, three ODM MPs from the Coast demanded that the Tsavo National Park be downgraded and handed over to the Voi County Council.
They alleged that the park was benefiting the Government and foreigners whom they claimed had been given concessions to run conservancies in the park.
According to them, the park was not benefiting the local people.
