First off I have no pics at this time but Adam's client has taken a 83 pound elephant in Lokisale. One big leopard is in the salt and several buffalo over 40" so all in all a great start to the season.

I spoke to Laura Du Plooy this AM. They have just now killed the new Rowland Ward world record Kafue lechwe at 35 5/8".

An important note for folks wanting a black lechwe or a very big tseesbe. The Bangweulu may be a national park with no hunting starting in '09. Since the black lechwe occurs nowhere else the park staus of Bangweulu will effectively close hunitng for these incredibly beautiful antelope.

Laura said she could arrange a short safari this season for folks wanting a black lechwe and tseesbe.

having done that last year i can sure testify that going to the bangweulu swamp for lechwe is something to see. they come out of the trees and across the swamp single file early in the morning before they bunch up. seeing a few thousand lechwe walking single file in the morning mist/fog/mirage is quite a sight.

Mark, I want to see a picture of that $20,000 plus trophy fee 83 pounder.

Not that anyone of sound mind and wallet would pass him up.
