Numzaam Safaris
Guys, I had a friend ask me if I know anything about Numzaam Safaris of RSA as he and some buddies are thinking of hunting with them. I told him I don't know them but I'd check around.

Anyone familiar with these guys? Thanks.

Numzaan has been a donor to our SCI chapter events for over 12 years. I have several friends that have hunted with them repeatedly and have nothing but good things to say about them and their operation. My wife and I are taking a couple over hunting with them this coming September. I myself have known Stef and Johann for around 7 years and am looking forward to hunting with them...

I hunted with Numzaan a number of years ago and had a great plainsgame hunt. We hunted the Thabazimbi area. Nice country, about a 60,000 acre fenced property.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I hunted with them in 2011 when I took my 12 year-old son on his first trip to Africa. Our PH, Tony, went out of his way to make it a great experience for my son. Even had him shooting doves at a waterhole one evening, which was just fantastic. Numzaam is well run and professional. Tony was a great host and entertaining as hell.

I have not met any of them but this is what I can say: I have not heard anything bad about them.

Within the small hunting community of Thabazimbi that means they do a good job.

I did my first safari with them. Water bottles are never purchased new. They refill every single one every night. Usually the first animal that stands broad side is a trophy and must be shot. They had my wife shoot a very small black wildebeast and a half grown zebra. Water from their well was unclean and we all got the runs.

Stef is the owner and will definitely be coming onto your wife in a serious way if you drop your guard. The meat is theirs as they make serious money off of it so dont even dare ask if you can have the fillets off something you shot so that you can cook them yourself in camp.

Now from what ive heard stef no longer hunts. If that is try pieter louis and Tony are excellent guides and are both awesome people to be around. As long as Stef, the owner, isnt making the rules you may have a good hunt. Just be aware that numzaan is more of a meat wagon operation than a safari company.
