JJHACKA few more game camera photos
I've had a little time to sort through some more photos from this past year. The original post is back a page or two but here are a few more to go with them. This game camera thing is a very nice way to have a photo safari and a hunting safari at the same time. 288 photos of game and I was not there for any of them! I was hunting with my clients the whole time.
Although I did check on a water hole one evening and we saw some Eland come drink. We stayed hidden to see how big they were. As they approached the open area and walked past the "camera" tree we saw the camera flash go off and the Eland stood amazed for a moment by the flash. So I was infact there for at least that one!
jackal
Honey badgers at a gut pile
Zebra, Eland, and a warthog......anything else?
Nice fat impala ram
This big guy must have been a couple feet away!
A very odd lone blue wildebeast? Must be more just out of sight.
JJ, I can't see your photos, and when I try to access the URL of the photos directly, I get:

JJHACKI've checked on three different computers on unrelated systems now and all work fine. I'm not sure what could be wrong if you cannot see them. Anyone else see them besides me?

graybirdYou know it might be fun to take one along with you, if you already had it, and do just as you did while hunting. Thanks for the idea, I may just take my own along next time I head over.

Devildawg66I can see the pictures just fine. Great pictures and thanks for sharing.
Game camera's are fun to put out. I have several on my farm where I deer and turkey hunt.
It's amazing what you see sometimes on the pictures. I have several from last May of a doe giving birth. She stayed in front of the camera thru the entire process. Everytime she moved, it triggered another picture.

bwanamrmCool!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

eyedocDevildawg-I for one would very much like to see the pictures you describe if you could possibly find time to post them.I am sure others here would like to see them as well.
We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

Hog KillerJJ, thanks for posting more of your game camera photos. With 288 of them, how about a monthly installment, something we can look forward to all year.

333_OKHGreat shots! I spent 7 years in the winters as a wildlife biologist using these cameras [TrailMaster]. Too bad it wasn't Africa, instead it was the mountains of northern California....

Frank MartinezThose are great. What a nice way to extend the safari into the quiet hours.
I might suggest that two more flash units set up as slaves being triggered by the first unit would give more visibility into the shadows. By seting them up in a triagulation effect they will trigger each other from the main flash. Many flash units these days have a slave unit built in or you can buy an inexpensive WEIN for less than $30. There are also the higher quality units for radio remotes that might work.
Thanks JJ
