retreeverBack from Zim
Well guys back after a very rewarding and humbling safari...Got my buff 38 inch hard and scared boss buff..Also shot a non-trophy bull elephant ivory around 48 inches long...37pounds....Hunted close to Chrisa and
in the jess...and 10 feet tall and long grass also... Was more than once up close to ele bulls...See an eye or see ivory tusks move in the shadows...All I could remember is
Will's quote " once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as to much gun " I shot my bull at thirty feet looking down at me from the top of an embankment..He looked like a monster towering above me...I can still remember seeing the tips of his ivory..like two white dots...Watching his head snap back with the frontal shot seeing his back end start to collapse and recover and me getting off a second shot into his shoulder as he spun around and chasing him as he ran through the jess like a runnaway train... photos to follow tomorrow or as soon as possible...

SpringSounds like a great hunt! How long had you tracked the elephant before you were able to shoot him?

bwanamrmCongratulations Mike and welcome home. Sounds like you had a grand adventure. Look forward to hearing about it soon and checking out your photos. By the way, any bull elephant fairly hunted in the jess is a trophy to me!

PAHunterHi Mike:
Welcome back, the pic of your Buff is great, nice deep curls. He looks like an old warrior.
Any Bull Ele is a trophy in my book, well done, and now more stories and pictures.
