It is with great sadness and incredulity that I share the tragic news about the passing of Paul Olvier, father, husband, friend and Professional Guide and Hunter.

Gone to soon following a tragic car accident. He is survived by his young wife and 6 week old daughter, Nicolene.

May God rest his Soul in eternal peace

Awful news. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul a few years ago. I enjoyed his conversation and his company. My sympathy and condolences to his family and friends.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

RIP
What awful news!
Paul was good to me, on the 2010 Tanzania expedition. He gave me credit for being better than I was capable. He sent out Christmas greeting emails each year after that. We talked about his fiance in 2010 as we bounced around in the bakkie. Now sadly a widow and child left behind, but there is comfort in that too, Paul lives on in them. Condolences and prayers for them, and whatever else we can do. The good die young too often.
