Family friendly plains game hunt
Looking for suggestions/recommendations-
I have a few weeks off in Oct 12 and I'm looking for a family friendly plains game hunt (bringing my wife and small children ages 3 and 5). I'll be the only hunter, but I'd like to take the kids along to experience the adventure (the 5 yr old has already accompanied me a a few deer hunts in Europe).
Thank you so much for the inspiration and advice you provide.

I just returned this past week from much the same with my wife and daughter. We hunted with our long time friend and PH Andrew Schoeman in South Africa, it does not get any better.

I would consider it borderline perfect for your plans.
Private land, safe, great lodge, great food, beauty everywhere.
While you're hunting someone else can take them game watching.
Been twice with my wife.
They have a room with king bed & an ajoining room with 2 twin beds for the children.

I would absolutely go with Westfalen Safaris out of Damaraland, Namibia. These are great people hunting a magnificent and huge area. Our own Greg Brownlee of Jeff Neal Inc. books for them. I took my wife to hunt this area last September and she too had a wonderful time.

I am sure everyone has their opinion, there are several really excellent family outfitters in South Africa, but please check out Shi-awela Safaris at www.shiawela.com. They are family owned and operated. You are made a part of their family while you are there. Check them out and I don't think you will be disappointed. My wife and I hunted with them last year and plan to do so again in the future.

Hunted there last year and you cannot go wrong with kids or your wife.

The wives can get really spoiled with many things to do.

Another vote for Blaauwkrantz, my wife and I are hunting with them in June, our 9th hunt with them, they are about as family friendly as it gets plus they have remodeled their lodge (be finished by mid June). They are good people.

Check out my 2011 Blaauwkrantz report in the hunt reports forum.

Karl is headed back again.

I am actually working with Zani right now to plan a Tiny 10 speciality safari.

You cannot go wrong with them.

I have hunted a few times with Jimbah Safaris in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. I do not think you can find a more family friendly oufitter anywhere.

Owen and Riana are grandparents, and particularly enjoy the young hunters.

Check out the website [above] and look for the hunt reports and videos, they will givw you a good idea of that part of South Africa and Jimbah Safaris.

Please feel free to contact me for more information.
