Overall Impression of DSC this year?
Anyone have comments other than the parking was tough and the registration was a bit tangled.

Not going to ATL, so I will likely try SCI in Nashville next year. ATL is not my favorite city due to a variety of reasons, so will be taking a 5 year pass on that place. Same for Reno. Passing on the Sheep Show until Grey Thornton and his compadres wake up and realize that Reno is the sewer pipe that Las Vegas dumps into....

Your thoughts?

My wife and I had a great time. Talked to folks I had hunted with, booked a Uganda hunt and looked at some fishing trips. The shuttle ran on time and right on the corner from hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Actually looking forward to Atlanta I am planning on taking my son and some friends who can't go to Dallas.

Everyone agreed that attendance was down. It was bitterly cold so a lot of locals probably stayed home. But most of them are usually tire kickers anyway so unclear how the low attendance translated into hunt bookings. I think Atlanta may have a boost with some fresh faces just as Nashville did for SCI.

DSC finally adopted the SCI pre-registration and badge pickup. My wife and I went in on Wednesday afternoon, and got our badges printed in about five minutes. Parking was really no problem, $20 per day. The overall show was very good, it seemed to be larger than ever. Saw lots of old friends and made several new ones. We also booked a hunt in Uganda for next year, and an Alaska hunt several years out. Plan to go to Atlanta next year as we have friends there, Nashville seems a bit too expensive. Overall, a great time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the DSC show this year. While it appeared attendance may have been down, it just made it easier to visit with outfitters and book hunts. Weather was definitely not favorable. I booked a hunt to Zimbabwe this fall and confirmed details on another hunt to RSA this spring, which I booked at DSC last year. I came close to booking a third trip this year, but saner heads prevailed and I will wait until next year to return to Tanzania.

I had no problems with parking, registration, hotels, or the shuttles. From our perspective the show was super smooth and seemed to have all the usual exhibitors. I didn't notice anybody missing, but of course hard to tell overall. We enjoyed the NRA hospitality suite as a quick refuge from the noise and distractions.

While I am not looking forward to Atlanta, we almost certainly will attend and I'm sure it will be as well run as ever. There has never been a friendlier place to book a hunt.

I really liked the quick and easy pre-registration badge pickup this year.

All of the exhibitors that I visited with were having a productive show.

My son Colton also attended the DSC show with me.

We visited with Kilombero Safaris about our September Tanzanian elephant hunt.

We visited with CMS about Colton's 2025 buff/Ele hunt.

I booked my sons flights to Tanzania this year with Patrick @ PWP and checked on my Tanzanian flights that Patrick had booked earlier as well.
I also finalized flights to Italy for my wife and I in May with PWP.

I joined Russell Marshall, Mike Jines, Tim Herald and Kelly Park for our annual drinks and dinner every evening after the show. Colton and Russell's son-n-law Brian Shive also joined us this year.

I attended the show on Thursday and Friday and enjoyed it very much. The pre-registration worked great and the shuttle bus service to the hotel was excellent. Booked a hunt to Spain this fall for Beceite and Gredos Ibex. Probably will not be attending next year in Atlanta

Probably going to just go to SCI the next couple of years. If I have to fly to Atlanta, I might as well just fly to Nashville.

I thought it was a good show and a little less crowded. It seems like there are fewer and fewer North American outfitters every year and an explosion of Spanish outfitters.

I finally decided to take a leap and booked an ibex hunt in Tajikistan. So I'm looking forward to that.

I'm disappointed that the show is leaving Texas, but I understand the reasons why. And I'm with Lavaca, if I have to travel to a show, it'll be SCI. I have absolutely no desire to spend a moment in Atlanta.

This was my first year attending. My wife joined me in Dallas and I thought it was a great show. Not as busy as the SCI shows I have attended and it seemed like all the bases were covered as far as who and what to see. My only complaint is it wasn't warm, but at least I wasn't at home in Alberta!

II thought the show was down in attendance, except maybe Saturday. But the people that were there was incredibly serious. We sold a record amount of hunts at the show this year. In short, we killed it! I remain reserved about the whole move to Atlanta though......it will be interesting to see what happens!

Late to the party to post but I had a great first time at the show. Was there Friday and Saturday. Bought a target camera system, got an MKC knife, and had a great talk with the Holland and Holland folks who were nothing but helpful and gracious and helped me and my family book time at the shooting grounds in July.

Talked with Mr. KMG and some other outfitters and made some big plans for the next year.

It was a great show for my first one and was similar to SHOT years ago for a first timer.

My wife and I had a great time. Visited with old friends and met new friends. BUT....

I received a call from DSC the next week to tell me about the Super Drawing. I won!
All expense paid Gredos ibex in Spain. Blew my mind. I always buy raffle tickets and had never one. Now I have. Smiler
