I made it back in one piece from Zim

Full RoarI made it back in one piece from Zim
I made it back yesterday evening, mostly in one piece, exception being chunks missing from tsetse and sqeeter bites. Time flew by quickly
Stayed at the Guinea Fowl the day I arrived, very nice people
Shot a nice elephant bull on the last full day. Shot a tuskless out of a herd on the 7th day that proved to be pretty exciting being charged by the 11 remaining cows. Shot 3 Impala and a hyena
Left camp every day at about 4:30, getting back well after dark each day. Walked somewhere around 150 miles I would guess
Saw elephant's everyday. Tracked and looked at about 40+ bull elephants in 14 days. Saw in excess of 200+ elephant cows. I cant count how many were tuskless as we saw plenty of them
Saw lions nearly every day.
Saw quite a few cape buffalo, some very nice bulls and old Dagga Boys.
Got severely spooked by a couple caped buff and a few pissed of cow elephants in the thick Jess. Saw a tremendous male lion at a hyena bait, several young males and quite a few lioness. Saw hyena, jackal, hippo, Nyala, Eland, Kudo, Impala, porcupines, a leopard in broad daylight, a forest hog in daylight, wart hogs, civet, genet and caracal cats, mongoose, bush buck, greysbuck, duikers, waterbuck and crocs in the river and a host of other birds and animals. One snake disappearing into a tree hole.
Mental image of Pete Barnards ass burned into my brain as he walked and scratched the "chaffing" in his crotch in front of me for 14 days. Zimbos must be taught from birth to scratch their crotch at all times
I had a great time, Pete always making things interesting by throwing a chunk of elephant shit or something in front of me while I was intently trying to keep from getting killed by something large and of the man eating variety. Trackers thought that was very clever also as they laughed each time, although I was getting jumpy as hell. Playing practical jokes on each other was really fun and turned into kind of a contest, and Pete has a great sense of humor. Pete and I are now "fungu" with me getting the upper hand on that, giving Pete a couple good whumps on his ass as he was bent over. Trackers thought that was funny as hell.
And I will also have the last laugh with a couple compromising pictures of Pete when I post the hunt report.
Altogether a wonderful safari which I highly recommend. Pete is super fun to be around and runs a great east African tented style camp and has a really good native staff. Meals were excellent. I plan on returning next year for croc, hippo and tuskless if anyone wants to join me
More later and pictures when I have time
Rory

bwanamrmWell done to the fact you hunted with Barnyard and survived to tell about it!

Sounds like an outstanding hunt. Waiting for your report, anxiously.

470EvansI'd love to see pictures of your bull. I hunted Sapi in May of 2010 with Neal Duckworth and took a nice 60lb bull along with a nice buffalo and Hippo.
That sounds great, but where are t5eh photos?
And don't let us guess all the details, we want a full hunt report!

Some of us Wyoming boys can appreciate a good practical joke - some cant

Pete pulled his fair share I can assure you
And anyone who knows Pete would think it quite amusing. Im not removing it and in fact will add a couple more. Those who cant take a joke for what it is don't have to read it
I am writing up the full hunt report and will try to get it posted before the weekend along with pictures

Rory,
That is the funniest use of the "Boddington-Walterhog Technique" of trophy photography I have ever seen.
How far behind the tusks did you have to stand to get that?
Jolly good show,
congratulations, and welcome back.

I am ashamed what you posted as a hunter and think this should be removed. You can certainly think otherwise.
Jeez, what a little puss. People seem to have gotten a lot smaller since I lived in Wyoming.

Rory my friend,
Doing great here, wishing for an adventure like you just had,
except for some of the stuff involving Pete's private moments interrupted, on which I shall pass.
You have a wicked sense of humor.
Better lock that album at photobucket, lest you offend someone else.
120 lbs per tusk?
Are these from the same bull?
