465H&HWinchester-Nosler 458s
Here is a picture off Winchester's new 458 loads with 500 grain Nosler partitions and their new 500 grain mono=metal solid. The FN on the solid is wider than the Sledgehammer solid and wider than I anticipated. It measures around .318" or 69.5% of bullet diameter.

Andy465,
Where did you get your ammo?
.458 Partitions are not even available at the nosler factory store yet in Bend.

465H&HAndy!
I suspect that the first production runs of 458 Partitions are going to Winchester for their factory ammo. It may be awhile before they are available as bullets only.

AndyNice looking protected point on the partition.
If you have any influence at nosler have them send me 5 or 6 for my on-going premium bullet test!

AtkinsonSomebody needs to jump on the old Northfork cup point, that was the best large animal DG bullet I have ever used hands down and no contest...and it did a respectable job on plainsgame also...If I had to pick one bullet and one caliber for the rest of my life it would be the 370 gr. cup point in a .416 or 404 I think...but then that might not be a very long stint at my age!

John SAndy,
Midway has had both the softs and solids available for some time now. In fact, they currently have an inventory reduction sale on the solids! Guess they are selling real well at the prices listed.

465H&HThey also have big bore Woodleigh softs and solids at around 1/3 off. Inc. 450/400 (both), 9.3, 458, eyc. etc.

465H&HI just got off of the phone with Nosler and the 500 grain 458 Partitions are available. He also told me that the $4.00+ cost was a mistake but didn't have the correct price on hand. They just had some as seconds for $40.00 for 25. They went quick.
